Hi there, my name is Anvita and I am a medical student. I took a non-traditional approach to medical school - I have an undergrad degree in Biochemistry, and a Masters in Education. After college I joined Teach for America and taught High School Biology, Chemistry and Anatomy. After college I joined Teach for America and taught High School Biology, Chemistry and Anatomy. 'Teaching' my patients to be healthy in a way that makes sense to them is one of the reasons I want to be a doctor, and one of the reasons I want to help YOU with your goals. I've also taken a lot of standardized test and spent hundreds of hours preparing for them, which is fun for no one. But, by working together, we can figure out how to make preparing and testing as painless as possible for you.

I have a Masters in Secondary Education and I have specifically taught High School Biology, Chemistry and Anatomy. I have previously held teaching certifications in these courses as well.

I am currently in medical school thus, have delved deep into the information on the MCAT tests. Additionally, I received 130s on both the Biology and Psychology sections of the MCAT - and they are my favorite subjects! Due to my experience serving as a literary editor and working closely with physicians to write both research and clinical documentation, I also thrive in my approach to the CARS section, and with application organization, writing, and editing. Lastly, I made significant lifestyle changes to prepare myself for the day-long marathon the MCAT is, so I can help you with that too.

I'm here for YOU and the goals you have for yourself; together we can accomplish them! Reach out to learn more, and schedule a lesson.

Biology,

Biology

I am starting medical school in the fall, and have a bachelor's in Biochemistry. After college I joined Teach For America and became certified to teach high school Biology, Chemistry and Anatomy. At the same I received my Masters in Secondary Education. For the last two years I have been working as a medical scribe and thus, also have real-world experiences with these subject areas.
Chemistry

Chemistry

I have previously held a teaching certification for high school sciences including Biology & Chemistry. My major in college was Biochemistry, which I excelled in due to my deep understanding & interest in the conceptual underpinnings of Chemistry and how they could be better understood using practical and easy-to-understand approaches (for all students with any prior history with science). Plus, Chemistry was hard for me at first, which is why I have a plethora of ways to break down the material for all levels of understanding - and it's why I will try my hardest to help YOU start to better understand (and maybe love!) Chemistry.

Test Preparation

MCAT,

MCAT

My Story: I start medical school this upcoming fall and have taken several preparation courses for the MCAT, which in turn allowed me to get a high score and get admitted into 4 medical schools. Plus, I have a bachelors in Biochemistry and a Masters in Education, meaning I have an in-depth knowledge of the course material and I have experience teaching (science in particular). I've also worked as a medical scribe for 2 years and have applied the information on the MCAT actively in a medical setting, meaning I can help you find ways to connect it real-world examples - and hopefully do well on the exam because of it! My Strengths: I received 130s on both the Biology and Psychology sections of the MCAT - and they are my favorite subjects! Due to my experience serving as a literary editor and working closely with physicians to write both research and clinical documentation, I also thrive in my approach to the CARS section, (and with application organization, writing, and editing.) Knowledgeable and patient tutor with clear explanations

I took biochemistry this past summer semester, and I was really discouraged over trying to comprehend and master the material. I'm a chemistry major, but I hadn't taken a biology course in years, so I felt way in over my head and was struggling to do well on my tests and stay caught up in class. Anvita put everything into perspective for me from the first lesson. She was able to explain to me clearly the big, overarching biological concepts of the course in a way that made sense to me when I had little biology background. Once I had that, it felt like the rest fell into place, and I had a lot more confidence in my ability to learn the material. I ended up getting an A on my final exam. I would highly recommend Anvita for help with biochem. I understood more from her in one session than in my previous six weeks of class. Overall I had a great experience with Anvita, and I'm grateful I was able to find her.

She’s really patient and helpful

Anvita is the best! She finds images that clear up confusing information and presents it in a way that shows how biochemistry works within the human body. Also she’s very understanding of my busy schedule. If I have to take another class, I hope I can use Anvita because she’s truly wonderful!

Very intelligent, tangible strategies

She's very positive and helps you understand her best MCAT strategies! I highly recommend you book a lesson with her if your test taking strategies are lacking. She is patient and will help you get to where you need to be!

Friendly, patient, knowledgeable.

Anvita has been super helpful in helping me understand chemistry topics I’ve been struggling with. Specifically, she taught me some Tips and tricks for MCAT math since no calculators are allowed on test day. Overall super helpful, friendly (♡), and great energy each lesson!

She teaches the way that works best for me

Anvita is a great tutor. She’s patient, checks in on my level of understanding by asking questions vs just lecturing at me and confirms I get it. I’ve had several tutors who taught THEIR way which did me little good. Anvita works to meet me where I’m at, and we go from there whether that’s at the beginning, somewhere in the middle or end. She also doesn’t waste time if my pace is faster or slower. Highly recommended. Thanks for the support Anvita!

Really takes the time to help you understand material

I really appreciate Anvita because she first asks questions about your strengths and weaknesses before diving into lessons. I really struggled with the reading section in the MCAT and Anvita has helped me really pick through passages and truly understand them. She also teaches tips/tricks that are simple and quick, which is helpful for my MCAT since it's super fast-faced!

Patient and showed me

Anvita was so patient and detailed oriented. She was able to help with pre-chemistry and explained it to me in a level I could understand. She is very knowledgeable about the subject

Brilliant and Kind-hearted Tutor

Finding a tutor alike to Anvita is a rarity. She’s consistently prepared and provides additional academic resources to accompany her already acclaimed knowledge. She’s very experienced in the field of Science (particularly in Chemistry). And although she clearly demonstrates a heightened ability in the subject, she also has a kind and patient nature. She invests time, effort, and care into every session making sure that that you’re provided with nothing short of excellence.— (Placing a focus on clarifying any particular topic in which you’re struggling.) If you’re striving for success in the scientific field, then I’d definitely recommend scheduling a session with Anvita!

Neuroscience about how transformers work

We went over the paper together and Anvita had some interesting ideas and gave life examples that helps me understand this topic better. I got a great job on the presentation after went though the materials with Anvita, really appreciate!

Biochemistry

Anvita is an excellent tutor! She is very knowledgeable, she explains materials clearly, and she is always willing to help. I like her style of teaching because she first asks me what I know and gives me time to reflect and to look over my notes. Then, she either corrects me or goes into more detail without being overwhelming but by being very clear and prepared at the same time. She is also very enthusiastic, which motivates me to work harder.
