My industry experience comes from working as a machine learning software engineer, manager, and CEO at multiple successful startups over the past 8 years, where I've built a variety of web-based and machine learning products for both independent customers and businesses. This has provided me with experience in over a dozen modern programming languages across many of the most common frontend, backend, and infrastructure frameworks as well as coaching less experienced peers and maximizing their potential.

My coaching experience extends beyond my time as a manager and CEO, as my passion for teaching started back when I was in middle school earning volunteer hours. I've been tutoring consistently since the sixth grade, and have experience working with all experience levels and learning styles.

I strongly believe in learning through understanding the concepts behind the material, followed by struggling through proper examples. I find this approach balances both conceptual and practical knowledge, and helps students retain the material effectively.

My teaching style varies by student, but I strive for learning to be both efficient and effective. I believe in students learning at their own pace in the way that works best for them, but also learning in a way that allows them to save time and retain the maximum amount of information. I provide my students with countless tips and tricks that I have acquired over my career.

My students are typically graduate students, PhD candidates, and professionals looking to improve their skills at any number of related disciplines.

Incredible Python Data Science tutor!

Andrew really knows Python and also knows how to interpret and apply Python to solve difficult data science problems. He is actually extremely quick at it too! His demeanor is very pleasant, kind and patient and seems to enjoy teaching others. What more can I say except I really believe he is gifted, a genius!

Generally knowledgeable but not as prepared as I hoped

I am taking a course in Machine Learning and worked on some highly difficult problem sets stumping even some 5.0 star experienced Machine Learning tutors on Wyzant. When messaging back and forth with Andrew, I acknowledged his steep price and he made it sound as if he could work through these problems with me easily. He knows a lot in general but even after sending problems and solutions to him in advance, I sensed that his knowledge of some of the problems were subpar despite the confidence he puts forward with his messages and hourly rate. I was hoping that one of the highest priced tutors in this domain would come more prepared and the higher the price the higher my expectations of value a tutor brings. Also there were times I found his explanations rushed and I had to extensively research some things even after the session.
