I have more than 10 years of solid experience in tutoring mathematics and piano. One of the greatest strengths of my lessons is to use simple language to motivate a profound understanding of even the most basic ideas in math and music. I always attempt to relate the subject in relevance to your area of interest.
During my undergraduate at USC, I was hired by the math department to help grade homework for linear algebra and provide supplementary instruction to students in all levels of calculus. I have also privately tutored business major students in the subject of elementary probability and statistics, using the relevant language they understand.
In graduate school, I was hired by the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences at NYU as a teaching assistant to facilitate recitations for Calculus and Probability. I received a score of 4.5/5 in the student evaluations for both courses and was recommended in the aspect of the capability of teaching by my instructors in the Ph.D. applications. At NJIT, I have lectured for a full year of Calculus (I and II). This experience has helped me prepare for future lessons with you! I will continue to teach as a passion.
Besides mathematics as my professional goal, I am also accomplished in the field of music. In 2009, I have obtained the technical certificate of grade 10 in keyboard performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music. Playing the piano has always been a keen interest in my spare time. My most confident repertoire ranges from sonatas of Mozart, and Beethoven, and most works of Chopin. I teach with a particular attention towards the motivation of harmony from the composer's point of view which will enhance one's ability to read music carefully and properly.
I am available for online and in-person tutoring for mathematics, and only in-person lessons for piano. I am willing to travel 30 miles to deliver the lesson. I suggest all prospective students arrange a consultation session for the first time we meet, so as to determine goals and logistic issues.
