I have an Associate's degree in Liberal Arts with four Latin classes taken. I also have a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology with a concentration in behavioral neuroscience and a minor in kinesiology-- but I may pursue further language studies. While still of interest to me for tutoring, science and health are of secondary priority at the moment.
Why am I a qualified tutor in Latin? Apart from taking 8 years of Latin, I received National Latin Exam Gold medals (Latin I through III), and above 700 out of 800 on the Latin Subject SAT. My tutoring experience started in high school when I volunteered to teach kids at my parish school. Also in high school, in the National Honor Society, I began tutoring fellow students. I later became an English teacher at language company Wall Street English, teaching young adults and older one-on-one and in groups conversationally, and taught English privately while in Chile. I recently tutored English at an organization called Elena’s Light. I have also tutored Latin on tutoring website Superprof. I'm a Spanish speaker.
I can make language lessons, including with free online resources. For those interested in Latin in a Christian and Catholic context, I can also review ecclesiastical material. I may use materials the student provides and/or my own.
Although I would focus on areas of concern the student may already have, I am also open to teaching. Although I have taken Latin above middle and high school levels, my strength would lie in these beginner levels. For example, I would be happy to help guide translating, review, and practice exercises in beginner Latin.
