I am majoring in Special Education at Hudson County Community College. I will be receiving my associate's degree in Special Education. Once I graduate from Hudson County Community College, I will transfer to a four-year college to obtain my bachelor's and then my master's degree in Special Education and English. As of now, I am a member of the honor society Phi Theta Kappa at Hudson County Community College. I recently obtained an adult/child/infant CPR and first aid certification.
I have had previous experience in educational settings. From July 2021 to August 2021, I volunteered at West Side Infant Daycare Center for fifty hours. Some of my duties were maintaining hygiene standards, such as sanitizing surfaces, reading to children, taking children to the playground for recreational time, preparing snacks, setting up the classroom for nap time, and efficiently communicating with staff and supervisors. I mainly worked with ages four to five. From 06/2023 to 08/2023, I was a counselor for the summer enrichment program SJ Enrichment. As a counselor, I worked with children ages four to five, starting kindergarten in 09/2023. My responsibilities included assisting the teacher I worked with by making copies, organizing the classroom, reviewing lesson plans, and helping supervise the class. Moreover, as the teacher would go over activities and assignments with the class, I would help the students struggling to finish or understand the assignment or activity. Furthermore, I efficiently communicated with other teachers, counselors, and supervisors.
