Hello. My name is Matthew, and I am a medical student about to start my second year of medical school. I am an experienced teacher and I have taught in a variety of settings, and am qualified to teach biology, biochemistry, organic chemistry, ACT English and Reading, American and world history, Political Science, and proofreading.
I graduated from Binghamton University in 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with minors in both Chinese and Russian languages, and during my time at Binghamton, I worked as a teaching assistant of Organic Chemistry for two years. My responsibilities included moderating small group discussion sections, grading student quizzes, and assisting individual students with learning difficult concepts.
After graduating, I worked abroad teaching conversational and written English, American history, and American culture to students ages 7-15. My responsibilities included helping individual students improve their English language skills and designing lessons plans based on the students' skills goals. In addition, I also provided private tutoring for students who wanted to improve their skills with English as a foreign language.
Besides being able to teach science well, I love to help students understand tough topics in American and World history/government, and love helping students improve their confidence.
I love watching my students develop their understanding of new concepts and succeed in their classes. I have had several years of experience teaching and tutoring students in a variety of settings, and I like being able to tailor my lessons to each students needs. I am also a life-long learner, and it is rewarding to refresh my understanding of old concepts while working with my students. Thank you and I look forward to working with you!
