I have enjoyed helping students understand the subject they are studying for more than ten years. My goal as a teacher is to make myself progressively unnecessary. I teach the skills and techniques needed to make sure the student can learn the material by themselves.

The academic school year just started. Now is a great time to get help with the subjects you do not understand. Don't wait till the end of the year to try to pass your end of year exams. It is much easier to learn throughout the year then to try to have to cram something in the last month or two.

Thank you for checking out my profile, and I look forward to teaching you.

I am a high school social studies teacher. I received my NYS teaching license in 7-12th grade Social Studies and passed the Chemistry and Math supplementary teaching exams. I have taken classes in linguistics, child psychology, teaching methods and have done a year of student teaching. Not counting two and a half years of actual teaching in the schools. Plus I used to work for an after school program that helps 1st-5th graders getting their homework finished, which requires some tutoring to make sure they understand it. I don't know where history got such a bad reputation for being boring. History is all about the story. If your teacher is teaching you Ancient Rome by just listing off emperors and what they did, instead of talking about Nero burning down half of Rome and Caligula having massive parties and Senators selling their wives to make money for the empire, then you need to give me a call. I earned my BA in history from Stony Brook University and my Masters in history from Brooklyn College. I have been teaching Social Studies for little more than ten years. Trigonometry is considered probably one of the hardest math subjects for a student to grasp. Many students do not do well in trigonometry because they did not have a strong foundation in algebra and geometry; because at the end of the day, trigonometry is really a combination of algebra and geometry. If you can manipulate a geometric figure and a complex algebraic equation, you can master trigonometry. If you haven't mastered algebra and geometry then we will have to spend some time making sure that your foundation is stable before building more bricks on your math house.

Great teacher! Very punctual and patient

My son started studying with Albert for a few weeks before the school year began. In the two weeks before school started, he covered the foundation of what would be needed for Algebra II/Trigonometry. After that my son only needed a session every week just to make sure he understood everything well and got a head start on next week’s material. He has been averaging an A- since September and I am confident Albert has a lot to do with that.

Got right to work with joy in his voice

Mr Albert came on time and got right to work. He came prepared with reference material for math and chemistry. My son said he was funny and had joy in his voice when explaining the work. Yes I would request him again.

Excellent, knowledgeable tutor.

I am preparing for a final in chemistry 2 on a college level. Before the semester started, I had a very weak basis of chemistry 1. Albert helped me get up to speed during my winter break, and helped me understand concepts spoken about in class during the semester. My exam grades went from 50’s to high 80s and 90s. Very well spoken, patient, knowledgeable, and fabulous individual.

My son is preparing for SHSAT, and he speaks highly about Albert. He can ask any question and Albert will stop and explain to him, also he make sure that my son understands it. Looking forward for more lessons. Thank you

A Tremendous Help

Albert deserves a greater than five star review. The reason for this is in his manner. He has the uncanny ability to make the subject matter really interesting . This is invaluable because it sets up a great dynamic with the student. Our son is thrilled with Albert and thrilled, also, with his outstanding results at school

Great tutor!

Albert is very punctual and has tremendous amount of patience. He zero's in on your weaknesses and strengthens them, leading to a very strong understanding of the material. Highly recommend for science and math majors!

A Regular Stand Up Guy

My son was convinced he would never understand math, and neither my wife nor I had time to really sit down and give it the attention this problem deserved. He was bringing home low grade after low grade, even though he did very well in his other subjects. In a short time (just under half a year) Albert observed how my son did math and got down to the problem. He pointed out the gaps my son had in understanding fundamental Mathematics. The last test my son brought home was a 92 and I couldn't be more proud and relieved that I made the right choice in getting Albert to help my son. I'm unwilling to let him go just yet, so I am talking to Albert about tutoring my second son.

Excellent tutor

My son took his first lesson in Chem today and he said it was really great. Albert explained everything using language that was easy to understand. He goes to school where the expectations are high, so I am sure Albert has pretty good knowledge of the subject and great teaching skills to make it simple. Really happy so far and already paid for 12 more classes!

Great teacher!

I hired Albert because I heard my nephew was doing poorly in chemistry. He had failed his previous test and Albert got him to an 80 after two sessions. Money well spent.

Kunal, 2 lessons with Albert

Patient Tutor!

Albert is great! My daughter had such trouble with adding and subtracting negative numbers. She could never figure out how to combine same sign and subtract different sign integers. In one session, Albert explained how the + integers are good, and – integers are evil; if you are adding good or evil they get more good or evil, respectively. If the signs don’t match, they would fight each other. She still needs more practice, but that story really helped her. During her history lesson, she would always forget dates and events that correspond with one another and Albert created cards for her to remember and added small trivial facts that made her remember the events better. Overall, I'm glad to have had Albert tutor her and I'll be calling him for more homework help and upcoming test reviews.
