My love of teaching history comes from a lifelong love of the subject. As a graduate student in American Studies at New England College, I have lectured for classes and helped fellow students write papers, study for exams, and understand the material. As a tutor, I seek to enrich students with historical knowledge and not just hammer in dates and names.

I strive to ensure that the students fully understand the material and not just quickly memorize facts. In doing so, it allows the student to have a deeper grasp of the information. The deeper understanding allows a student to remember more of the facts needed as the student is able to fit the puzzle pieces together to quickly reason out the correct answers. Also, when the student is confronted with an essay, the student does not struggle to compose a well-thought-out paper as the student already has a good understanding of the material. Teaching history as a large story instead of hammering key points allows the student to excel with any tasks in class.

I have flexible hours and like to have a quiet study space for the student to focus. I prefer libraries as it reduces stimuli that distracts students.
