I have been working with students in a school setting for 13 years. I have experience in each elementary grade, Kindergarten through fifth grade. I have also taught at the middle school level. I currently teach grades 5-8 as a learning specialist. I have experience differentiating learning, adapting when necessary, and motivating students of all abilities and disabilities. I truly believe that learning should be individualized for every student, that is what I love about tutoring.

I am a certified Special Education teacher and have a Masters degree in Elementary Special Education. I have worked with students with ADD, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, specific learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, emotional disorders, health impairments, and communication disorders. Special education is my passion and strategies and techniques that I use with students with special needs can be applied and used with all types of students, special needs or not!

I have taught a broad range of reading abilities to students. From letter recognition, to phonics, to reading comprehension strategies.

I am up-to-date with the Common Core State Standards for grades K-8. I have created and implemented lessons based on Common Core and understand the rigor and expectation. I am also highly qualified in Elementary Education and English Language Arts.
