Hi there! My name is Mary and I graduated with a BA in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology (cum laude) from Princeton in 2023. I have 4 years of tutoring experience, both on a volunteer basis and working for a national education company. I’ve tutored Biology, Chemistry, Spanish, History, English (Reading & Writing) and Math at all levels to students ranging in age from 7 to 18, both in-person and virtually, and in both one-on-one and group settings.

I enjoy helping students reach that "aha" moment, when topics they didn't think they were capable of understanding finally make sense. I believe every student has the potential to achieve great things and accomplish their goals, and it's my job to help them get there! I also believe in a compassionate approach to tutoring, ensuring that each student feels supported in their journey.
In addition to my biology background, I'm also passionate about English language and literature, and can assist with college essay writing, proofreading papers, and developing reading comprehension skills. I scored 5’s in AP English Literature and English Language, as well as a 780/800 on the SAT English Subject Test. I also have experience writing and editing scientific papers for publication, and was the co-president of a national undergraduate research magazine while in college.
I scored a 1580 (790/790) on the SAT and a 35 on the ACT, and was named a National Merit Scholarship Finalist. I took dozens of practice tests in preparation for the SAT/ACT, and have an intimate knowledge of the exams. In my experience, learning the content of the exam is best paired with gaining a sense of how the exam is written, getting “inside the mind of the test writer”. With this in mind, I help students develop the skills and confidence needed to reach their dream score on the SAT or ACT.
Let’s work together to achieve your goals! I look forward to hearing from you.
