Teaching today involves differentiated lessons (usually 3-4 levels/activities) on the same topic/unit. Students do not all learn with the same modalities, and therefore, different styles/levels must be taught in order for students to absorb the most out of each lesson taught. We do this as adults (write things down pen/paper, text reminder, tablet note, etc. and we must prepare students to do the same when studying; Examples: Define terms 1. dictionary 2. your own. 3. picture, write terms 3x, use term in your own sentence, mix/match , multiple choice, fill in, hands on, and many more!

Very Patient and Very Accommodating

Ms. Barbara is a great tutor! She is responsive, thorough, very patient and very accommodating. She provides a summary of what she and my daughter will work on before their session and provides a progress summary after the session is over. My daughter has difficulty with math, reading comprehension and staying focused on tasks. Ms. Barbara has taught my daughter methods that she has been able to apply across all her subjects. My daughter also has a short attention span and gets distracted easily but Ms. Barbara has provided diverse reading materials and assignments that keep her interested and engaged.

Absolutely Amazing!

I hired Barbara to help my grandson improve his reading skills and a jump start to 3rd grade. She has been doing an amazing job & even has him wanting to practice his writing & reading skills more! She is just what he has needed & I cannot thank her enough. He doesn’t complain about going to tutoring, which tells me he is enjoying it and truly wants to learn & improve in these areas! Sometimes one on one is exactly what a child needs, and it’s always better to get that help from someone that isn’t family!! We will continue!

Awesome with younger learners

Very pleased with her quick ability to work with our son and not be detoured by his slight unwillingness in the beginning of the lesson. Look forward to working with her to improve our son's skills!

Natural Teacher

Barbara sat right down with our son and began a natural conversation which led into the lesson. She picked right up on the areas he needs help with and they worked together very nicely. He enjoyed it very much. Thank you Barbara!
