I am LaTonya! I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Marketing. I soon went back to pursue my Master's degree in Elementary of Education. While taking an aide position in my hometown high school I realized that I enjoyed helping students learn. I went further and was certified as a teacher. Now I'm chasing my Doctoral degree in reading and Literacy. Because teaching second-grade students I realize we are their foundation to reading and most students do not receive the fundamentals at home to become great readers. I hope to develop programs that can help students become great readers at home as well as in the classroom.

I have over 6 years of tutoring in which I have touched all subjects to help students. I have had 5-8 students as a small group to focus on the subject In an intimate environment. These are normally students that have challenges with reading, spelling, phonics, and comprehending what they have read. Before Covid, I was meeting with students before school as well as after school to help with these particular things. I would assign additional homework for them to practice at home. Which would help tremendously.
