Hi! I’m Afua. I have a bachelor of science degree in Biology with a concentration in Molecular and Cellular Bio from Georgetown University and I'm currently on a research fellowship at Harvard University studying the neuroscience of motor learning! I'm an enthusiastic, understanding tutor dedicated to helping you gain confidence in the basic sciences! Hi! I’m Afua. I have a bachelor of science degree in Biology with a concentration in Molecular and Cellular Bio from Georgetown University and I'm currently on a research fellowship at Harvard University studying the neuroscience of motor learning! I'm an enthusiastic, understanding tutor dedicated to helping you gain confidence in the basic sciences! I tutor Biology and Chemistry for all levels from middle school through college upper level biology and general chemistry. I have experience as a Biology Teaching Assistant tutoring college students.
As a tutor, I always make sure to adjust my teaching style to fit the needs of any student. From conceptual, metaphor-filled lessons to organized, straight forward tutorials, I'm confident can find the perfect balance to leave you with a complete understanding of the lesson. Formerly a student of many AP and honors classes, I can also provide help with study skills as well as tips for better recall and workload management.

Qualifications:
I received Dean's List & First Honors semester GPA honors while taking challenging upper level science courses in university.
I received an AP Exam Honor Certificate based on my AP Biology, AP English Language, AP English Literature, AP Calculus and AP U.S History exam scores.
I also scored a 35 on the English section of the ACT (99th percentile) received an A grade in AP English and an A+ in honors English. I have also received creative writing awards including a first place award in the Alexandria Library Writing Contest and a silver key in the Scholastic Art and Writing competition.

I am very flexible with time and prefer online lessons, but I am also open to in-person tutoring.

I was really struggling with my accelerated college Chemistry class and reached out to Afua for study skills, exam prep, and comprehension of content.
