I love teaching statistics and R. If you need to ramp up quickly, review some basic concepts, or get help with a few assignments, reach out!

My expertise includes data analysis, hypothesis testing, statistical significance, regression (simple and multivariate, linear, exponential, logarithmic, and logistic models), ANOVA, t-tests, Z-tests, chi squared, machine learning models, time series, difference-in-difference, econometrics, probability (binomial experiments, normal distribution,...

I love teaching statistics and R. If you need to ramp up quickly, review some basic concepts, or get help with a few assignments, reach out!

My expertise includes data analysis, hypothesis testing, statistical significance, regression (simple and multivariate, linear, exponential, logarithmic, and logistic models), ANOVA, t-tests, Z-tests, chi squared, machine learning models, time series, difference-in-difference, econometrics, probability (binomial experiments, normal distribution, geometric distribution, Poisson processes, etc), and more. I can also assist with building, modifying, and improving Shiny apps, especially dashboards for data visualization and analysis. I offer lessons in SAS in addition to R.

I have over 10 years' experience as a researcher and statistician. I have a background in psychology and math, started my career as a researcher at MIT, and worked as an evaluation expert for non-profits before starting a job in the U.S. government as a statistician.

I've been teaching and training others for my entire career. As a graduate TA at UC-Berkeley, I was selected by students as my department's instructor of the year in 2017. In total, I taught three courses at the university level, including an introductory statistics course (with R programming lab) at UC-Berkeley. This course covered topics such as significance testing (Z-test, t-test, chi-squared test), ANOVA, and multivariate regression.

In 2010, I earned a bachelor's degree in math, and in 2017 I earned a master's degree in a quantitative public policy program (e.g. econometrics, statistics for program evaluation, risk and optimization models).

Math and statistics are challenging subjects but can be made a lot easier with good preparation and effective strategies. If you're taking an intro stats, probability, or decision analysis course, learning R/Rstudio for the first time, or need an expert consultant on a coding project, please reach out! I'm looking forward to working with you to build your skills and confidence!

R,

R

I've been using R for 10 years as a research assistant, student, and now as a professional statistician. In graduate school, I taught an introductory course in experimental design and data analysis, which included ten 2-hour lab sessions in R. My expertise includes RStudio and R Markdown.
SAS,

SAS

I use SAS every day to manipulate and analyze large datasets. I use it for simple tasks like importing data from other sources into SAS, adding new variables, and exploring new datasets, but I also use it for more complex statistical projects. My SAS programs often use PROC SQL. R was my first programming language; I can help students who may be coming from a background in another programming language.

Probability

I'm trained in advanced probability and statistics, including risk and optimization models, quantitative research methods, econometrics, and other applications. I have a B.A. in math and a master's degree in a quantitative analysis program from UC Berkeley, where I was selected as the top graduate student instructor of the year in my department. Today, I work as a professional statistician and continue to teach and tutor students on the side.

Knowledgeable and Patient tutor

Danny is the most effective tutor I've encountered on the site. He has the uncommon ability to simplify complex ideas. He is patient but very sensitive to time. I highly recommend! 20 out of 10!

I highly recommend working with Danny!

Danny did a phenomenal job tutoring me through my graduate level probability, statistics, and time series forecasting courses. He was able to explain complex topics in a very simple manner. Math has never been my strongest subject, but with Danny's help, I was able to understand the materials taught in those courses with ease. Danny made me more passionate about statistics, and I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to learn from him. I highly recommend working with Danny!

Amazing tutor.

Danny was patient with me as I described different potential model approaches and some miscommunications between myself and my dissertation chair. Danny effectively showed me several options to model my data and how to put the data together.

Thoughtful, patient, and highly responsive tutor!

Danny's been doing a wonderful job supporting me as a struggle my way through statistics. He's patient, happy to delve into the challenges that I'm having in my thinking, and is happy to hop on a quick call if I need to go over stuff quickly. Overall, could not recommend more highly.
