Bio

My love for teaching comes from a passion for discovering the unknown. With hard work and effort, I believe that everyone can become lifelong learners. As a Magna Cum Laude graduate and member of multiple honor societies (Tau Sigma and Lambda Pi Eta), I have experienced the benefits of hard work and dedication in my own life. My love for teaching comes from a passion for discovering the unknown. With hard work and effort, I believe that everyone can become lifelong learners. As a Magna Cum Laude graduate and member of multiple honor societies (Tau Sigma and Lambda Pi Eta), I have experienced the benefits of hard work and dedication in my own life. My success inspires me to help today's youth find their path to success in academics and in life. I have had the privilege of helping students as a classroom teacher and tutor for the past 5 years. I have also been an online ESOL teacher for 5 years. This is truly the best job I have ever had!

I am a certified teacher, specializing in English, writing, reading, language arts, history and social studies. When I work with students, my goal is to challenge them, but not overwhelm them. I give rigorous assignments and provide periodic assessments and progress reports.

I have high standards for myself, so I will often ask for feedback. Your feedback helps me help you.

I try to be flexible with time. While I do have a 24- hour cancellation policy, I do offer makeup sessions.

I am qualified to tutor for the STAAR because I have helped my classroom students prepare for and pass the STAAR. Those who I worked with not only passed the test, but saw a large increase in their scores from the previous years. I have several reading and comprehension workbooks specifically for middle school that are designed with the STAAR in mind.

Knowledgeable and patient tutor

I contacted Cindi to get help for my 12 year old nieces who have been struggling with reading and writing throughout elementary. Within one week both of their scores on their reading tests have increased significantly! Everyone in our family is amazed at how quickly Cindi has been able to help the girls and it's heart warming to see how much their self confidence has increased. And we are only one week in!! Cindi is very patient with them and is very good at rephrasing the questions if the girls aren't quite understanding what she's asking. It's also very helpful that she is knowledgeable about the Texas school system and is able to further teach them things that they are already familiar with. We are definitely looking forward to the the weeks to come and highly recommend Cindi to anyone's child(ren) who are in need of extra help!!
