I am a Molecular and Medical Geneticist (Assist. Prof. Res.) from OHSU, Portland, OR and have a doctorate in Biochemistry (Toxicology) and Molecular Biology as well. I have more than two decades of experience both in Teaching and lab research, and have 20+ peer reviewed publications to my credit. Most of my research work has focused towards developing Gene Therapy Protocols for Bone Marrow Diseases, and Stem Cells.

I have more than two decades of experience both in Teaching and lab research, and have 20+ peer reviewed publications to my credit. As a Scientist who has worked and studied in various countries of the world, I share my passion for science by teaching and motivating students to take interest in Scientific Disciplines. I also volunteer for virtual class room across the country to empower the students thus helping them pursue higher studies. I love to teach Genetics, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biology, Zoology and so on up to graduate level (i.e. University Level). Before OHSU, I was an adjunct faculty in the Dept. of Chemistry at RIT (Rochester, NY) where I taught these subjects to both undergraduate and graduate students. For tutoring, my students range from high school to University level.

I have a good grasp of the subjects and have helped all levels of students achieve their goals. My unique teaching approach keeps students interested in learning and getting good grades. Over the years of teaching, even the students who were not interested ended up loving the subjects I taught them, and went on to doctoral and medicine programs.

I have a doctorate in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. I did post doctorate in Biochemistry at OHSU where I discovered a novel transcription factor that I named as ZRAP. On further research, I found this gene to be important in Zn regulation (I was at the time studying Wilson's and Menke's disease). This work was published in the most prestigious Biochemistry journal called JBC Vol. 273

As a Ph.D. in biochemistry, the next subject mandatory to be in the program and graduate is to take Microbiology throughout the B.S and doctorate. This includes all aspects of microbiology: medical, molecular, food etc. In addition I have done research work in pure microbiology for years and have publications in B. subtilis, V. cholerae, Salmonella and so on. In Celle, Germany, I worked with the team there to design a molecular method to detect Salmonella in poultry, Salmonella being the most common food poisoning organism.

Extremely thorough and knowledgeable!

Dr. N is really good at explaining difficult concepts in a way that makes sense. When we went through substitution and elimination reactions for my Organic Chemistry class, she provided analogies and related them to the relevant topic--she taught me tips and tricks to remember these mechanisms. She takes the time to understand the student's learning style and works with them to ensure their thorough understanding of the material. Definitely would recommend!

Professional and knowledgeable tutor

I had a lesson with Dr. Meenakshi Noll for Organic Chemistry. During the session Dr. Noll went over the Molecular Representations (Chapter 2) section and she was very helpful in explaining the reasoning and providing examples for the topics of drawing curved arrows and resonance structures, assessing relative importance of resonance structures, and determining formal charges for various atoms in compounds. Dr. Noll was very prepared for our lessons as I had sent her a list of topics ahead of time and she went through each of the concepts I had trouble with in detail. Overall, I highly recommend Dr. Noll for organic chemistry tutoring.
