Hey There! My name is Matthew W. I graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Genetics. I graduated Summa Cum Laude, and went on to attend Texas A&M College of Medicine. I am now in my fourth year of medical school, currently applying to residencies.
My own journey into tutoring began when I had just graduated from college. I hadn't been satisfied with my score on the MCAT the first time that I took it, so I dedicated myself to studying for the test wholeheartedly. After 10 long weeks of living with my parents and studying at the local community college library, I was able to make a 99th percentile score. I love coaching and tutoring others so that they can have the same kind of success that I did.
And that's exactly what I did during my three gap years. I tutored MCAT students, SAT students, and even high school and college students in math and science. I found that I had a natural love of helping others to understand complex topics. I am now in my fourth year of medical school, applying to residencies. I wanted to sign up through Wyzant for tutoring so that I could get back to doing one of the things I love.
I specialize in Math and Science, including chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry, high school and college physics, algebra, pre-calculus, and calculus as well as preparing for the SAT and MCAT exam. Due to my time spent in medical school, I also know quite a bit about physiology, anatomy, and pharmacology and preparing for the STEP exams.
I love Sci-fi and fantasy books, lifting weights at the gym, and playing video games. Some day I would love to be a published writer. I plan on going into internal medicine, and either specializing in Critical Care medicine or Cardiology.
