Bio

I graduated from a small state school in the middle of no where Maryland called St. Mary's College of Maryland with a BS in both Mathematics and Computer Science. During my time there, I served as both a paid tutor and teaching assistant for a variety of subjects ranging from Calculus, Data Structures and Algorithms, Computer Architecture, and my personal favorites, Linear and Abstract Algebra. Not only that, I also won the department award in 2019 for my active role in our small community...

Not only that, I also won the department award in 2019 for my active role in our small community and my achievements in the classroom. I was the type of student that taught myself how to use LaTeX because I thought it would be fun to turn in my assignments that way! My favorite thing about St. Mary's was the meaningful connections I made with my professors and colleges while discussing what I love the most: Math! I used to sit in the math lounge for hours working on assignments with friends, chatting with professors about interesting things in the field and helping anyone I could that was stuck on something.

These days, I work as a Software Engineer for the US Department of Defense with a primary focus on Full Stack Web Development. Ask me about Django and I'll go on for hours! I love my job as I feel it is extremely fast paced, interesting and fulfilling to help give back to my country in the best way I can. It really is incredible that I have to opportunity to provide such an important service while getting to express myself through UI/UX design, building databases and writing the best code I can.

However, I must admit that I miss forming connections with people and seeing the little light bulbs in their heads turn on when they finally have a break through. Its something that I simply cannot get outside of teaching and is why I am looking to help you achieve your goals! There is nothing I would enjoy more than to sit with you one on one and discuss trig substitution, cyclomatic complexity, group theory, cryptography, web design, the history of mathematics and computing and everything else you are interested in!

Computer

C#,

C#

I use C# on a near daily basis as part of my job. I know how to take advantage of tasks, how various data structures work, how to use interfaces and what they are, etc.
C++,

C++

This is what I was taught in school, I still have many of my old projects on hand. To this day I still think it is my preferred language and often use it when I need to get something done quickly. I think that I have a great way of explaining a lot of the pain points students experience while learning C++ such as pointers, structs, etc. that is likely a different approach than other tutors, but I'm sure you don't need me to get into that here.
CSS,

CSS

As part of my daily tasking at work I create both the front and back end of our websites, which obviously involves taking advantage of CSS. I am a frequent contributor of codepen.io and love to go over the top with my designs if time allows for it. I find that its one of the most artistic forms of expression a programmer can experience and can be really fun once you get into it!

Math

Discrete Math,

Discrete Math

As a Mathematics and Computer Science double major in college this was a require course. I got in A+ in the class and greatly enjoyed the experience. Writing proofs and getting into why we know math works the way it does is my absolute favorite part of the subject. I went on to TA for this class 2 semesters in a row and was very successful in helping my students achieve their goals in the subject.
Finite Math,

Finite Math

Considering that most Finite Math courses can be considered "Algebra 3" I feel that I will be able to help anyone that is struggling with this course based on the fact that I am an expert in all things algebra. I read over much of the course work listed, watched a few youtube videos and even took a practice exam for this course and did very well simply based on the fact that I have a deeper understanding of mathematics than that which is required by this course.
Logic,

Logic

As a practicing software engineer I am required to deal with complex logic on a daily basis while writing code. Additionally, I took Logic in college and know my way around my P's and Q's (that's a logic joke). In all seriousness, this was a great subject and something I enjoy very much. Negations, iff's and the like are all very important things for my line of work.
