I am a certified Spanish teacher with a Masters Degree in Spanish/Secondary Education and 17 years experience as a High School Spanish teacher. Although I am fluent in Spanish, and people often think that I am a native speaker, it is not my first language. I think because I learned Spanish as a second language I am able to explain challenging concepts in a way that language learners understand. Having 17 years of successfully teaching all levels of High School Spanish, I am able to identify weaknesses easily, use a variety of methods of instruction to help students grasp some of the more challenging concepts, and lastly, make concepts that seem difficult easier to understand.
17 years experience teaching High School Spanish levels 1 though 5. I have a bachelor's degree in Spanish with a minor in Sociology and a Masters Degree in Spanish/Secondary Education. I am certified to teach Spanish in three states, and I have experience tutoring college students as well.
For 4 years I prepared students for the Spanish Regents as a High School teacher.
I am able to work with all types of students and all ability levels.
Services available for Elementary, Middle School, High School, as well as College students.
Happy to help with struggling students, students who are trying to get their grade up to help their GPA, test preparation, and/or students who want to enhance their learning and knowledge of the Spanish language.
Flexible schedule (days, evenings, weekends)
Looking forward to working with you soon!
