Bio

Hi! My name is Noah, and I've been helping students like you since 2012. I graduated from UT Austin with high honors with a degree in mechanical engineering, and now I'm working on my PhD! I started tutoring in high school when a friend was struggling in a class I took the year before. I remembered how confusing the teacher made it seem and how simple it was when someone explained it in a way that resonated with me. I know from experience that there are as many styles of learning as there are people, and I try to tailor my lessons to each individual student.

I know that when you focus on understanding the material, good grades will come. That's why my goal is first to help you understand the world around you, then to teach you how to apply that understanding.

I have experience tutoring many subjects such as:
-Math: elementary math, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Precalculus, Calculus, Differential Equations, Probability, Statistics, and Time Series Analysis
-Science: Biology, Chemistry, Physics (mechanics and E&M), and Fire Science
-Engineering: Dynamics, System Dynamics, Thermodynamics, Fluid Dynamics, Heat Transfer, Statics, Mechanics of Solids, Material Science, Mechatronics/Circuit Analysis, Control Systems, Statistical Process Control, and MATLAB

I have helped students prepare for various standardized tests, and I scored highly in the SAT (800 Reading, 790 Math, 760 Writing), ACT (36 Math, 34 English, 34 Reading, 34 Science), GRE (167 Math, 165 Verbal, 4.5 Writing), and SAT Subject Tests (800 Physics, 790 Chemistry, 790 Math II)

I can also help students prepare for AP Exams. The AP Exams I took and their scores are:
Calculus AB (5), Calculus BC (5), Physics 1 (5), Chemistry (5), World History (5), Macroeconomics (5), US History (4), American Government (4), Psychology (4), English Lang. and Comp. (4), English Lit. and Comp. (4)

I am available 7 days a week and am more than happy to schedule sessions on short notice. I look forward to working with you, and please don't be afraid to reach out!

Knowledgeable, prepared, patient tutor

I am taking probability lessons from Noah. I learned more from him during our 1st session than I did after weeks of classes. He is very knowledgeable, he was more than prepared for our session, and he explained all the background I needed to fully understand every problem we worked on. I feel confident about my chances of succeeding at this topic.

Knowledgeable tutor.

Noah helped me solving problems that I had difficulty with and was patient and knowledgeable. He also took into consideration that I was sick and had a lot to catch up on.

Knowledgeable and patient

Noah helped me learn about state space models and the logic behind them. He also gave real-life examples that helped me understand the concept better. Noah was great in understanding my background and the level of familiarity i had with the topic in order to explain the concepts in the most clear way.

Great tutor

I knew open systems was going to be covered on my first thermodynamics exam and while my professor covered it, I had not grasped it very well. I had even thought about dropping the course thinking I didn't have enough time to learn it. I met with Noah for one hour two days before the test and he was able to teach me everything I needed to know about open systems. I was shocked when it turned out 50% of the test covered open systems. I ended up doing very well on the test, thanks to Noah, who is a great tutor. I also appreciated that Noah adjusted his busy schedule to accommodate me.

Dynamics review

Noah is really knowledgeable about dynamics. He could have showed me anyway but I told him my professor was specific about doing it a certain way and I showed him one of my professors problems. He was able to show me the way my professor did it and help me understand it.
