Hello! I am a certified and licensed Speech-Language Pathologist who has worked in a public middle school for over eight years, serving students in grades five through eight with various communication disorders. Specifically, I have worked extensively with students with language-based learning disabilities, including Dyslexia. During my time in the school system, I supported students with various language and reading needs every day.

I have a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (minor: Child Development) from Tufts University. I have a Master of Arts in Child Development from Tufts University. I have a Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the MGH Institute of Health Professions. I am certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), and am licensed to practice Speech-Language Pathology in the state of Massachusetts. I also have an All-Levels Professional license in Speech, Language, and Hearing Disorders from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

I have been trained in two Lindamood-Bell programs, LiPS (Lindamood-Bell Phoneme Sequencing) and V & V (Visualizing and Verbalizing). LiPS is a phonics- and articulation-based program, and V & V is a reading comprehension program. In addition, I am trained in the Orton-Gillingham approach.

As a Speech-Language Pathologist, I have extensive experience in assessing and evaluating students, writing reports, and interpreting reports, including neuropsychological reports. In addition, in my role as a Speech-Language Pathologist, I gathered data during each lesson and analyzed this data in order to plan successful future lessons.

I look forward to speaking with you!

All my best,
Caitlin

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

I have worked with students of various ages with Autism for about 17 years in multiple capacities. I am a certified and licensed Speech-Language Pathologist with a Master's in Child Development and a Master's in Communication Sciences and Disorders. I have over eight years of experience in a public school system working with students of various ages with different communication challenges (including social communication difficulties) and language-based learning disabilities. Before becoming a Speech-Language Pathologist, I worked with children (mostly toddlers) in their homes providing one-on-one Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy and using Discrete Trial Training (DTT).
Dyslexia,

Dyslexia

I am a certified and licensed Speech-Language Pathologist who worked in a public middle school (grades 5 - 8) for more than eight years. The majority of the students with whom I worked had language-based learning disabilities, many of whom had Dyslexia. I am trained in and can tutor using the Orton-Gillingham approach. I was trained at Carroll School (in Massachusetts), which is accredited by the Orton-Gillingham Academy. I am also trained in Lindamood-Bell’s LiPS (Lindamood-Bell Phoneme Sequencing) program, which is a phonics- and articulation-based program for reading and speech. As a Speech-Language Pathologist, I have assessed and evaluated students using a wide range of testing measures, including those commonly used in the diagnosis of Dyslexia (e.g., CTOPP-2). I have extensive experience in administering testing, evaluating results, and writing reports. I also have significant experience explaining testing results to families and caregivers, ensuring that I present the information in a way that makes sense to them. As a Speech-Language Pathologist, I am qualified to diagnose Dyslexia. Oral language abilities (listening and speaking) play a crucial role in an individual’s ability to acquire written language skills (reading and writing). The core deficit in Dyslexia is phonological awareness, which is an oral language skill. I have tutored several students with Dyslexia using the Orton-Gillingham approach. In addition, I have extensive experience with the aspects of reading related to comprehension (e.g., understanding vocabulary, making inferences).

I have worked with students with a wide range of special needs, with a particular focus on language-based learning disabilities, including dyslexia. I worked at a public school for over eight years, and prior to that did both home- and school-based Applied Behavior Analysis. I hold an All-Levels Speech Language and Hearing Disorders Professional license from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
