I am a Special Education teacher with a focus in Math. I am very comfortable also supporting English concepts such as writing, grammar, spelling, vocabulary, and reading comprehension. I have years of experience and have had great success as a tutor with private clients.

I believe the greatest support at my high school teaching job is seeing students during extra help and study hall time for support in a variety of subject areas. The reason I enjoy providing this type of support is that I enjoy listening to students and their challenges and strengths to build on them as a way to support their educational areas of need. I put the needs of the student first and help them grow the confidence they need to try new things and work through difficult material. It is the most rewarding line of work and I am very grateful to be doing something I love so much!

I believe I am an outstanding math tutor because I have spent many years working in high school math classrooms along side excellent math teachers learning Algebra I, Geometry and Algebra II material inside and out. The class levels I have worked with include a basic level and college preparatory levels. I am confident that I can offer students lessons that will help them reach the goals of the math course they are taking. Most of the time, I meet with students who do not understand or learn from the teaching style of their current instructors. I pride myself in being able to find a way for students to learn no matter what the material. Most often, students simply benefit from the individual time and explanations. Further, by the time students are in middle and high school, they are rather defeated and truly believe that they just cannot learn math. I have yet to find a student that was unable to learn math and I am excited each time I meet a new student and have the opportunity to prove this to them!
