About Jonathan

Bio

I have extensive experience in tutoring College, High School and Middle School Math, Chemistry, Physics and the Physical Sciences. I also have been tutoring in Economics at the College level.

I have had great success in helping under performing students raise their grades by learning how the student processes information and showing them how to understand math and science the way that they think. This not only raises their performance but also their confidence, so that they can learn how...

I have extensive experience in tutoring College, High School and Middle School Math, Chemistry, Physics and the Physical Sciences. I also have been tutoring in Economics at the College level.

I have had great success in helping under performing students raise their grades by learning how the student processes information and showing them how to understand math and science the way that they think. This not only raises their performance but also their confidence, so that they can learn how to understand their teachers on their own.

I am also experienced in assisting advanced students with optimizing their understanding of their subjects. This not only includes coursework but also assisting with SAT and ACT preparation.

My background includes a degree in Chemical Engineering, graduate mathematical methods for engineers and graduate work in Soil and Water Science.

Amazing tutor

Jonathan has honestly amazed me with how efficient/proficient he is with regards to teaching. My daughter excels in language arts and the like, but math and science have always been an uphill battle for her. Jonathan has a very soft-spoken, yet authoritative presence about him which made my daughter immediately feel at ease with him. And due to his approachable nature, she felt comfortable admitting when something he said did not "click" with her, until I finally began hearing the sounds coming from the next room that's simply music to any parent's ears whose child is struggling with something: "OH, OK! Now I get it!" I would recommend Jonathan to anybody who needs assistance with ANY of the subjects in which he specializes, because he is not only knowledgeable beyond belief, but is equally likeable and approachable.

Great Algebra 2 Tutor

My daughter has always struggled with math. However, with Jonathan's tutoring, she has raised her math grade by a full letter. Jonathan has explained Algebra 2 in a way that she can comprehend. My son had four tutoring session with Jonathan for ACT Math. Those four sessions (and work at home studying what he learned) helped raise my son's ACT math score by 4 points!! Jonathan is very patient. He has an ACT Math book that he teaches from and continues to work with my son until he understands each concept. He also shows him different approaches and logic to solve certain problems. He gave him tips for taking the test as well. He is very prompt at responding to e-mails and is easy to schedule sessions with. He is a great guy that my son enjoys working with and we are thrilled with the results!
