Bio

I have been teaching Spanish language classes since 1981 and have taught all levels from kindergartners up through college literature classes. Some of my most rewarding teaching experiences have been through tutoring students who were struggling, some of whom were convinced that they just couldn't learn a language. I have been teaching Spanish language classes since 1981 and have taught all levels from kindergartners up through college literature classes. Some of my most rewarding teaching experiences have been through tutoring students who were struggling, some of whom were convinced that they just couldn't learn a language. I have been able to convince them otherwise. I believe that a good tutor works very hard to put herself or himself out of a job. My goal is to teach students how to learn so that they don't need a tutor anymore. Some students need just a few sessions to get on the right track. Others need more prolonged support. In all cases I focus on how a student can use his or her strengths as a learner to best advantage and how to develop other skills as well.

My focus is on helping a student identify his or her strengths and then showing them how to make maximum use of those strengths. Some students need explicit instruction in how to learn a language, and this is often not addressed in language classes. My goal is to help a student become an independent learner as soon as possible. I currently teach in a private high school. I am certified in Pennsylvania to teach Spanish K-12.

Wonderful tutor

My daughter found Christine very helpful. She was able to help her understand some grammar concepts she was struggling with in Spanish. I really appreciate that she showed her how to use resources she already had and was not using to help her become self reliant.

Great Spanish tutor!

My daughter attends a very rigorous private school and her Spanish 2 class was especially challenging to her. She felt confused and lost and after one session with Christine she finally felt she understand the grammar that was confusing her. In her words after one session with Christina- "oh my gosh I actually understand it now". Will definitely work with her ongoing.

Highly Recommend!

Christine jumped in on short notice to help our 8th grader prepare for his Spanish final. She was responsive and flexible with scheduling. She was able to keep our son engaged in Spanish review for hour-long sessions. She was creative in her approach and encouraging. She is helping our son to overcome his "I just can't learn Spanish" mindset. He enjoys working with her and we plan to continue to use her next school year. Thanks Christine!

Great tutor

Christine is doing a great job with my son. He is beginning to pass all of his quizzes and exams. She is very knowledgeable and consistent!
