I am a veteran award-winning illustrator will on occasion spend time with those studying vector rendering on Illustrator or principles of illustration and graphic journalism.

After retiring from newspapers and moving to the Caribbean island of Nevis, I saw a need for a colorful, informative and accurate visitors guide for my new island home. I created the map entirely in Adobe Illustrator, rendering topographical features, locations, illustrative elements - monkeys, flowers, vines, trees, sea and beaches.
You too, can create what you imagine.

I began using Illustrator when it was Illustrator 88. That should tell you how long I've been using it. Newspaper art departments were still rendering art by hand when my publisher gave me my first Apple MacPlus and software with McDraw and McPaint. The vector rendering software of Aldus Freehand and Adobe Illustrator became my working environment. The first desktop publishing software we used then was called Pagemaker.

I am a semi-retired, veteran newspaper professional having won first place best information graphic consecutive years in Iowa from the Associated Press Managing Editors awards in the 1990s, before selling everything and moving to the Caribbean.
