Hi, I'm Darian! I have a Bachelor's of Science in Biology (concentration in Ecology and Organsimal Biology) from the University of Toledo in Ohio (but don't hold that against me!). I'm in the final year of my PhD at Michigan State where I study plant and bacteria interactions and how they might be used to improve crop growth.

I'm a big science nerd and I love sharing that with people! I think my enthusiasm can be quite contagious! This is my first *professional* tutoring experience, but I've helped classmates, mentored undergraduate students, and assisted with teaching in the college classroom. I'm excited to meet and work with you!

I am currently in the final year of my PhD in Michigan State University's Plant, Soil and Microbial Sciences department. Basically, I'm a professional student with years of experience in the sciences - particularly Biology and Ecology. My PhD work is heavy in microbiology and ecology. I have experience with cells, genetics, plants, climate, carbon and nitrogen cycles, trophic interactions - almost everything that broadly falls under the blanket of biology, I can help with!

As a PhD student, I'm essentially a professional writer. I've written many papers for classes, am currently writing a dissertation, and have published scientific work. I enjoy writing and have worked hard to become skilled at it.

I'm very enthusiastic about science and about sharing that passion with others. I enjoy helping students grasp new and/or challenging material, so it is really my goal to help you fully engage with the subject, not just memorize the material. While I specialize in biology, i have some experience with all the sciences (in fact, my husband is an astronomer), so I'm willing to go outside of biology strictly.
