About Malavika

Bio

I am a PhD candidate in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Michigan specifically interested in environmental science and sustainability. Having grown up in Boston, USA, and later in India, I have volunteered with different organizations in both countries to help students get the best out of their education. I initially started teaching students mostly in middle and high school, but have now been teaching undergrads too! I am well proficient in the sciences, english and math, and...

I am a PhD candidate in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Michigan specifically interested in environmental science and sustainability. Having grown up in Boston, USA, and later in India, I have volunteered with different organizations in both countries to help students get the best out of their education. I initially started teaching students mostly in middle and high school, but have now been teaching undergrads too! I am well proficient in the sciences, english and math, and have taken several exams such as the SATs and TOEFL (apart from term exams at college too!).

Throughout the summer breaks of my high school, I volunteered at an organization to work with autistic children. Thus, I can assure you that I am very patient and will be happy to help any student who needs the help.

As an avid reader, studying english has always been a getaway from my life around the sciences. I specifically am good at proof reading (thanks to all the scientific writing courses that I have taken throughout my undergrad) and will be happy to help anyone with preparing for competitive exams or figuring out how to write your SOPs.

In my junior year of high school, I was selected for the final round of an art competition and cultural exchange program that was held in Busan, South Korea.
