Bio

Ivy League educated math tutor with excellent references available. I was valedictorian of my high school and earned a full scholarship to college. I am a CORNELL GRADUATE in engineering, whose second career is giving back by teaching children to love learning. Recently I obtained my Texas State teaching certification in Math 8-12, and I have taught TAKS Math classes and credit recovery in Math, Chemistry and Physics. My strength is making math seem simple.

I was valedictorian of my high school, and received a full scholarship to study engineering at Cornell University. When there was an engineering slump, I entered the teaching profession and taught Technical Math & Physics at Houston Community College. Later, when I wanted to reach younger minds, I was required to get my Texas Teaching Certification. Please note that even though I majored in engineering,I received all A's in my college English classes and write very well. Also, I am a Texas Certified Math Teacher for grades 8-12. In Math, you are always building on what you learned before. Therefore, I must know my elementary math very well before excelling in higher math. Furthermore, I started tutoring other students at the age of 10 1/2. I remember what it was like learning the subjects and have a strength in breaking things down to the simplest level.

Nutrition

Nutrition

I took a nutrition course in college and it is a subject I have always been passionate about. After all, the best way to save for retirement is to stay healthy so you won't have huge medical bills and eating right is a major factor, along with exercising and getting enough sleep. In my leisure I read many health magazines and can easily tell you what each vitamin and mineral does for your body.
