I tutor all levels of French including AP (Language and Literature) and IB (International Baccalaureate).

I have been a French teacher at the German school in Bloomfield Hills for 4 years. Moreover, I am a French and German native speaker, fully trilingual in French, German and English. I hold a degree in Linguistics.

I have been a French teacher at the German school in Bloomfield Hills for 4 years. Moreover, I am a French and German native speaker, fully trilingual in French, German and English. I hold a degree in Linguistics.

I have tutored privately from children to teenagers to adults for more than five years here in the United States. I have helped many students not only improve their grades but also develop a true love for the language.

I grew up partly in Germany, partly in France where I received an outstanding education in both countries. My mother is German and my father is French. I came to Michigan almost 14 years ago. As a French and German native speaker, I do not only share my languages but also engage students in authentic cultural experiences. With a Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics acquired at the prestigious “Université Catholique de l’Ouest” in Angers (France), I worked in France as a translator for two years and in Germany as a trilingual executive assistant at Daimler for five years.

Depending on the needs and level of my students, I have used different approaches to teach the language. I put the emphasis on the speaking by using games, small talk subjects, flash cards and books. I also have a wide variety of French and German literature, magazines and textbooks in my own private library that I use for my lessons. Since last year, I have been preparing students for the AP French.

I am a patient, dedicated and engaging educator who is well qualified to provide the motivation and direction students need to successfully learn.

One of the best investments in our daughters career!

Our daughter struggled all of last year with French I and that carried over into French II this year. After working with Catherine for less than a month, our daughters grade went from close to failing to over 90%! She is taking an extra initiative to study on her own, looks forward to her sessions with Catherine, and has even started to speak some French around the house. My first lesson Catherine asked a few questions in French and I responded so she could assess where I was at.
