Algebra 1,

Algebra 1

I have taught or tutoref Algebra for over 10 years and, whenever possible, try to make it more fun and interesting by connecting the math concepts to real-world applications.
Algebra 2,

Algebra 2

I have taught and tutored Algebra 2/Math 3/Trigonometry for more than a decade. Whenever possible, I make real-world applications to more deeply teach the subject. Algebra 2/Math 3 is more challenging than Algebra 1/Math 1 and follows Geometry/Math 2 so in order to receive a top grade in the class, I always tell my students to spend twice as much time on their studies and to review foundational concepts such as combining fractions, operations with negatives and factoring polynomials as often as possible.
Calculus,

Calculus

I have taught and tutored AP Calculus for more than a decade and the majority of my students have received a 5 on the AP exam. When I teach Calculus, I make it more engaging for the student by connecting the math concepts to other subjects. Some students relate more to history and culture so I'll discuss the evolution of unique math concepts. Calculus has a natural connection to science, especially Physics, so I make those connections whenever possible. I also find real-world applications for the Calculus concepts so students see how relevant the math is to their lives.
Geometry,

Geometry

When I teach math concepts such as Geometry/Math 2, I try to make it more engaging for the student by connecting the math concepts to other subjects. Some students relate more to the language of math so I'll discuss the etymology of unique math terms. Math has a natural connection to history and science and Geometry/Math 2 especially connects well to the arts and architecture. I also find real-world applications for the math concepts so students see how relevant math is in their lives.
Precalculus

Precalculus

When I teach math concepts such as Precalculus/Math Analysis, I try to make it more engaging for the student by connecting the math concepts to other subjects. Some students connect more with history and culture so I'll discuss the evolution of unique math concepts. I also find real-world applications for the Precalculus/Math Analysis concepts whenever possible, so students see how relevant math is in their lives. Precalculus/Math Analysis is more challenging than Algebra 2/Math 3/Trigonometry and covers more topics so I always tell my students that they should devote twice as much time to their Precalculus/Math Analysis studies in order to receive a top grade in the class.
