I did some tutoring when I was in college, and really enjoyed it and my students had very good results with it I also helped my daughters with all levels of their homework through high school and they did very well. While I don't have the experience that most tutors here do, I really love helping others and seeing them succeed is something I love to see. I would love to help you out as well in any way I can!

My approach would be to have the student send me the topics they are struggling with ahead of the lesson so I could prepare accordingly. I find that students learn math best by example. I would begin the lesson by working through examples of those struggling topics . If I feel they are understanding what I did, I would then give them problems to work through and correct them as necessary as they work through them.

My dad is also a retired math professor and math textbook author, so consulting him on teaching approaches is always something I would consider. Algebra I, Algebra II, Precalculus, Finite Math, and Prealgebra are the classes I enjoy tutoring the most, but I am open to teaching others at this level or lower. During my actuarial career, I also acquired an advanced level of skill with Microsoft Excel.
