I graduated from Sinclair College with an Associate's Degree of Liberal Arts and Sciences in 2013 and I have also received an Associate's Degree of Mathematics in 2015. I received a Bachelor's Degree of Mathematics with an Education Concentration at Wright State University in 2018.

My methods of tutoring vary based on the needs of the student. My preferred method is to give "mini-lectures" using a whiteboard to illustrate examples, checking in with the student along the way to gauge their understanding of the material. In my experience, I have found that many students are visual learners, so I find this method to be very helpful.

I welcome texting as a primary method of communication with my students, but they are also free to use other communication methods.

Algebra 1,

Algebra 1

This is my favorite subject to tutor. I have helped many students to understand how to define a function. I have also helped students learn how to simplify rational expressions with exponents of different signs. I can also help students solve inequalities as well as absolute functions.
Algebra 2,

Algebra 2

I completed the Math Education Program at Wright State University. I have tutored many students in math, specializing in algebra. I like to show students why conjugates are useful, tricks to factor polynomials, and how to demystify algebraic word problems.
Calculus,

Calculus

I have helped many students with integration, arc length, and other topics found in calculus. I am especially helpful with optimizing area/volume functions. I am also familiar with business calculus.
Geometry,

Geometry

I have been successful in helping students understand the various theorems of triangle congruence, such as Side-Angle-Side and Hypotenuse-Leg theorems. I especially enjoy teaching ways to prove congruence in general, such as line segments, angles, and triangles. I can also make it easy to understand how to bisect angles and line segments, as well as demonstrating tessellations.
Prealgebra,

Prealgebra

Pre algebra coursework prepares you to face problems with variables and helped you to understand why solving for x is useful. I have helped many students with the order of operations and how to remember them. I can also help identify what is useful in a word problem and how to use the information to isolate a variable.
Precalculus,

Precalculus

I have tutored in a math lab where many students come with precalculus questions, such as determining shifts of a graph, finding zeros of polynomials, and applications of trigonometric functions. I have been able to help these students by providing simple answers to difficult questions that are easy to both understand and apply.
SAT Math

SAT Math

I am familiar with all math at the high school level and have been tutoring SAT math since 2014. I have also proctored SAT testing and have led SAT practice sessions in the classroom.

Math

ACT Math,

ACT Math

Since 2013, I have helped many students prepare for standardized math testing. We have met in small classes, in groups, and in a one on one meeting. The type of math that shows up in the ACT is my specialty, and my students and I have worked together to ensure their success with the test.

Nik is an awesome tutor!

Nik was very patient with me being an older student that is out of practice. I appreciated his sense of humor during the lesson and the fact that he is very easy to understand. I learned so much and he made sure that I understood what he was teaching. I’m really looking forward to working with him in the future. He tutored me for my business calculus class.

Great Teacher

very patient, makes you think for yourself instead of just putting the answers out there. Problems become very clear after working with him.

Great start!

Nik is helping my kid feel like it's possible to get caught up in math even with the learning gaps. He is looking forward to continuing to work with Nik. They worked on what is currently going on in his math class in addition to looking back at the some of the building blocks that he's less clear on.

Great Tutor

Very helpful and easy to understand. Nik was available on the same day requested and spent an hour going over AP Precalculus homework. Would book him again for my high schooler.

College Algebra Tutor

I was really struggling with the topic of transformations. I like the way he broke everything down. He was very patient and polite. He taught me about each part of transformations and he also helped me with my homework.

Kirbi, 9 lessons with Nikolas

Patient, organized, and explains things so that the kids get it.

We used 2 tutors before Nik, and they were good, but after her lesson with Nik, she came running to me and said-"I GET IT, I FREAKING GET IT!" Nik is the only tutor now.
