My motivation for applying for this position is that I view this opportunity as a chance for me to obtain more professionalism, utilize my knowledge in data science, and as well add value to the company through my unique perspective and contribution. As a graduate student of Texas A&M University, I had my master’s degree in Industrial and System Engineering (ISEN). ISEN is a versatile major that includes the topic of manufacturing, quality control, product design, management, etc. Most of the fields include expertise in statistics and data analysis with the application of statistical software, such as Python, R, SAS, Minitab, and Excel. Currently, I not only possess a great academic standing relating to the data science courses in my degree plan but also applied my statistical knowledge to multiple real-world projects.
My work experience started in Sep. 2019, as a Data Scientist Trainee for QuoData GmbH in Dresden, Germany. My job is primarily supporting members of the mathematics/data analysis department at QuoData in their daily project work. This includes preparation and exploratory analysis of datasets using statistical programs such as R programming and basic data analysis. Other tasks include preparation of insightful data visualization and preparation. One more concern of my internship is to optimize an existing machine learning method for the classification of mass spectrometry.
As a data analyst, I worked for VTI of Texas, Inc towards an Automatic Inventory Update System from Aug. 2018 until Dec. 2018. The project is to use the historical inventory data of the company to set up an information update system to provide essential inventory data and prediction of the time series analysis for the company with the usage of Python.
