About Miss Angie

Bio

As a University of Miami alumni, I know what it takes to succeed. I've had the pleasure of working with hundreds of students, predominantly but not limited to children. My biggest reward is to see my students reach their full potential, improve their grades, test scores, and achieve their goals.

My degree in psychology coupled with my teaching certification has also allowed me to work with and help students with certain learning disabilities such as Dyslexia, severe Seizures Disorders, or...

As a University of Miami alumni, I know what it takes to succeed. I've had the pleasure of working with hundreds of students, predominantly but not limited to children. My biggest reward is to see my students reach their full potential, improve their grades, test scores, and achieve their goals.

My degree in psychology coupled with my teaching certification has also allowed me to work with and help students with certain learning disabilities such as Dyslexia, severe Seizures Disorders, or ADD. One of my proudest accomplishments is the work I did with a family of 6 siblings (all under the age of 10 and all of whom were deaf-mute). My ability to adapt to my students' circumstances and particular needs helps me craft customized lesson plans and strategies to better assist each and every one of them.

I hold myself to the highest standards, for this reason, I often request feedback from our sessions. I never charge a student and/or parent who isn't 100% satisfied with the results of our sessions together. Although I do have a 36 hours cancellation policy I am flexible with my time. In cases of emergency, I do offer make-up sessions.

With over 20 years of experience in teaching, I have had the opportunity to work with a variety of students and families. this, in turn, this has allowed me to develop my adaptation skills. I've worked with single families as well as families with multiple children at a time ranging from ages 2 and up (college students included).

Travelling extensively throughout the world with my family as a child, provided me with the opportunity to learn about many great cultures, and learn to express myself in different languages predominantly, but not limited to French, Portuguese, Spanish, and Haitian Creole; be it in written or spoken form. Learning about new cultures is a passion of mine, and a perk I enjoy while teaching new students. Being the oldest of 5 has taught me to love the art of teaching, children and adults alike. As a Language Arts Tutor with over 20 years of experience, I've come across an array of students, varying in age, backgrounds, and academic abilities. In addition, my degree in Behavior Modification has helped guide me as I tutor students with a different ability to learn new materials by adapting the lesson plans to their individual needs. Thus I have successfully taught students with ADD/ADHD as well as Dyslexia.

She will definitely help me to progress in my French studies this upcoming school year. She has helpful hints and is able to explain the material in such a way that I can grasp it fast. She is also easy to understand in English and in French.
