Hello, my name is Nate. I am a self taught programmer with over 10 years of experience. I originally started programming in Java back in high school and am now currently working as a front end engineer. This includes, but is not limited to, building software for different enterprise companies.
Originally, I started tutoring general chemistry in high school; but have since taught algebra, programming, and Spanish. Science and math classes were fundamental for my engineering degree, hence my many years of experience tutoring other students in these subjects. I took AP Spanish in high school and after graduating university, was able to gain more practical experience by traveling to over half a dozen Spanish speaking countries.
I am a big believer in keeping things as simple as possible. I like to take complex topics and break them down into smaller, understandable bite sized chunks. Technical terms can be confusing, so I explain those first in laymen’s terms, and then tackle the harder parts of the concepts. After, I teach how to think about problems holistically, so that when unexpected surprises arise on tests, my students can easily navigate through them in a thorough manner.
I am passionate about learning and making sure my tuttees understand the material to the best of their abilities. It is important to me that you leave a session with me confident in your understanding of the material.
