I've been blessed to be a medical doctor in Family Practice for nearly twenty years. Currently serving in a part-time position, my time is freed up to pursue this passion I have for teaching and tutoring. The son of a high school teacher and principal, I have seen both richly demonstrated, as well as personally navigated many years of education and testing in the path to obtaining an MD.

My experience includes having given countless interactive talks on health and disease to community groups, organizations, Christian ministries, small groups, and individuals. In holding an MA in Bioethics, I have delivered practical lectures and talks to college classes, medical residencies, and medical organizations. Also, I have three decades worth of experience in parachurch and church small and large group leading and facilitating, including Bible study, book review, worldview discussion, and sermons.

I've naturally excelled in mathematics, having a mind that automatically thinks analytically, along with having an ability to communicate concepts and methods in an understandable way. I have three children that I have successfully tutored along in their education (the oldest has recenlty graduated as her high school valedictorian), and math is #1 in their requests.

I have had rigorous teaching and training in the life sciences, and frequently encounter them in my medical practice and required continued education. This keeps them fresh and active in my experience with anatomy, biology, and physiology, along with the process of communicating concepts and processes to patients and students.

I look forward to having you contact me to learn more and schedule lessons...

I have excelled in Math since Elementary school, yet have had my own frustrations along the way (so I'm uniquely able to understand the struggles students have!). I am also currently working part-time as an Instructor for our local math learning center, where I teach and facilitate learning through both Socratic and Direct Teaching methods to many Elementary and Middle School children. I have strengths in communication and patience, and am able to apply those in the tutoring process.

I have had decades of Elementary, Secondary, & Higher Education, and have developed numerous techniques and habits for taking in information, working through it, and turning in/answering homework, assignments, and tests. I am aware of the different learning styles of students, and will adapt my tutoring according to their needs.

Matthew is very knowledgeable and patient.

Matthew has been tutoring Benjamin for 2 weeks on Geometry. Benjamin is very shy, and has been diagnosed with ADHD, and is own the Spectrum of Autism. Matthew was able to get Benjamin to speak and to engage on their first lesson. Benjamin always has a smile on his face when Matthew is teaching, he enjoys working with Matthew. Matthew has a very outgoing personality, he is patient with Benjamin, Matt has the patient of Job! 😇The family enjoys listening to Matthew while he is teaching. I would highly recommend Matthew.
