Hello! I am a Harvard grad excited to teach you school subjects in which you most need help including students with special learning needs (ADHD, Anxiety, Autism, Dyslexia, etc). I got into seven of eight Ivy League schools including Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Columbia, U Penn, Cornell, and Dartmouth. I also got into West Point, Stanford, Duke, and the University of Michigan. As a result, I focus on college applications and essays in order to enable you to bring your A-game to your quest to get into your dream school.

I tutor AP classes including AP English, AP US History, AP World History, and AP Human Geography. With pre-meds from Northwestern and recent medical school coursework at the University of Illinois at Chicago, my strengths also include AP Biology, Chemistry, Physics, algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.

My greatest strength ties to my Stanford Ph.D. with a focus on anthropology (cultural, medical, and archaeology), social science, social studies, and geography. I have taught anthropology and global studies at the college and graduate student level. I have tutored in all stated areas with terrific results.

I attended Harvard for history and literature (A.B., cum laude), The University of Chicago for social science (A.M.), and Stanford University for anthropology (M.A., Ph.D.). My science background is in pre-medical and medical studies from Northwestern and the University of Illinois at Chicago.

All of these degrees and topics aside, I am a laid back person and a true teacher at heart. Your sessions will be both rigorous and fun. Outside of the classroom, I swim, walk, do yoga, do art, sing, and am most recently learning musical theater. I look forward to meeting you! :)

Outstanding tutor with vast knowledge and patience

Jennifer was knowledgeable on peer-reviewed journal articles and she walked me through the entire process of how to read and critique peer-reviewed articles, which I did not know how to do properly. She is a lifesaver.

Dawn, 2 lessons with Jennifer
Tutor responded:

Bless you, Dawn! Your kind words mean a great deal to me. I am honored and flattered that a service woman of your stature, demeanor, and character sees fit to praise my work. A compatriot on the journey to learning. Five stars for you, too!!

Incredibly intelligent, Patient and Reassuring

Jennifer is a warm, kind and present tutor. She is incredibly intelligent, knowledgeable in the field of Anthropology (amongst many others) and patient. She has great way of curating your ideas and presenting them back to you in a helpful manner. She helped me to interpret essay prompts, conceptualize an outline of the paper and choose appropriate readings to support. An overall wonderful experience and I look forward to working with her in the near future!

Noor, 2 lessons with Jennifer
Tutor responded:

Noor! I only just realized I can comment on your comment. How academic! How are you? Just to reply, thank you! You were a stellar student on to even more stellar academic positions in your future. You did a great job with this assignment and culled through your articles professionally when the stakes were high and deadlines were nigh. This was not an easy task as our work took place under pressure. But you came through and with wonderful essay prompt interpretations to boot. Congratulations on this now past assignment at which you excelled!

Great Fit!!!

Jennifer has been amazing! Jumped in right away and after one session grades on essay went from 70 to 90. She is now helping prep for the AP exams. She is fun and encouraging.

Ella, 13 lessons with Jennifer
Tutor responded:

Hi Elle, Though it has been almost a year since our last contact, I wanted to congratulate you on your stellar performance under pressure on your English and US history AP’s. With your stellar scores, too, you should feel proud of who you are and your accomplishments! I do!! Take a breath and be. Reach out whenever you want to do so just to be in touch. Jen

Jennifer is very knowledgeable and she is a patient tutor and she has the ability to connect with her student

Our first meeting was very good she was able to work with my grandson and have the ability to keep his Attention on the lesson and it was also fun for my grandson

Henrietta, 3 lessons with Jennifer
Tutor responded:

Thank you, Henrietta. Your grandson made great steps forward in reading during our sessions and took leaps and bounds toward becoming a fine young adult with the skills necessary to excel at school. Good luck on your respective journeys, to your daughter as well. Be well!

Approachable, knowledgeable and engaging tutor

Jennifer has been tutoring my high-school-junior son for AP US history and we have noticed an increase in his grades as a result and his teacher reporting an upward trajectory in his work at our recent PTC. Jennifer knows the subject very well and has great ideas to make history, and the trends and concepts behind that history, more accessible. Overall, my son is very happy with Jennifer and is looking forward to a very productive year with her.

Patrick, 21 lessons with Jennifer
Tutor responded:

Hi Patrick! Say hello to the boys for me. Your three sons were paragons of discipline, study, and kindness. All important not only for school performance but life as well. I enjoyed working with each of them in AP US history, Geometry, and Physics respectively. I was so pleased with their performances. So excellent!!! Keep up the great work!! Jen
