I have a bachelor's degree in English from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG), located in the great city of Belo Horizonte, Brazil. My university is considered one of the most prestigious universities in South America. I also attended there to earn a master’s in linguistics, where I taught college students at the university for two semesters. It was a very formative experience having taught two full, 40-student undergraduate classrooms.

After my academic tenure, I dedicated many years as a private tutor. I have designed my own material which focuses more on structural aspects of the English language. I began with a course on English pronunciation, then basic and intermediate English, lastly courses on English morphology and idioms. I still teach some classes over the Internet while also holding a part-time, day-time job. The students whom I have had a special focus on recently are doctors preparing to take the USMLE - United States Medical Licensing Examination. I developed a significant clientele assisting these students with English proficiency requirements to become a physician in the United States as well as other English-speaking countries.
