I am Karlin C. a lifelong teacher with a passion for wellness, fitness and education with backgrounds in Anthropology, Sociology, Anatomy, Exercise Science and Psychology. I have been tutoring & teaching others since the end of high School in a variety of subjects.

I was first asked to tutor by another student while taking classes before the start of my undergraduate career at Syracuse University. I was asked to help them come up with a study plan and to proofread their writing. I'm proud to say that his grades improved, and they became a more confident student and writer. I became involved with the tutoring program at Syracuse University in 2003 and I tutored a number of student in Math, Political Science and more.

In 2010 I became a section and lab instructor for a primate gross anatomy course. I had the opportunity to teach my students the anatomy of different primates and guide their dissections, so that they took as much away from the course as possible. My passion for teaching and for health led me to attend graduate school at Queens College in 2010. I gained a stronger knowledge of how to lead, teach others and use fitness to do so. I successfully completed my first MS in 2013.

My approach to tutoring is a teacher/apprentice style where I guide my students into truly learning the subjects-not just memorizing. I use a variety or methods including exercises to test students comprehension and application of the subject in the real world. Videos, small projects and sall fields (where possible and necessary) may be used; depending on the clients, in addition to typical study methods. I look forward to helping you learn and grow in your subject area and in life.
