I am an experienced mental health professional with an undergraduate degree in English/Liberal Arts and a Master of Arts in Psychology Health and Wellness. I have been most recently working with children who struggle with both mental health and intellectual disabilities, however have had many years working with adults with mental health disability in the community and in the home setting. I am a writer, currently editing three books of poetry and a children's book. My reasoning for seeking to tutor at this time is a need to get back to tutoring and instructional work, and shift to writing fulltime. I feel working with students in this way will benefit me and the individual seeking support in learning their desired topics. My interests include: world history, data gathering and processing, poetry/writing/vocabulary and grammar/prose, politics and Psychology subject matter including medical and research areas.

My ability to communicate has always been excellent, and my computer skills and manner of sharing in different media intuitive and effective. I have earned more than 36 credits in English Literature, American Poetry, Creative Writing and composition as part of my liberal arts undergraduate education, and am certain this will benefit any student who needs help in this area.

I have a well-rounded education, have raised my five children (they are all college-educated and successfully working in our community), and am always educating myself in trends in education, current issues and world debate, as well as being very involved in the arts and politics. Learning involves trust in the person who instructs you, and their successful ability to share what they know in a format you can understand! I always work hard to open young minds to learning new ideas, and feeling good about themselves while challenging themselves to improve their skills and succeed in their goals.
