I taught in-person 4th grade (general education), 6th grade (English), 8th grade (English), and 1st-3rd grade (ESL). I am currently certified with my teaching license in the state of North Carolina in K-6 (general education) and 6-9 (English).
I am passionate about all things English Language Arts related, especially the science of reading. I teach reading using curriculums that follow the science of reading, specifically ones that use linguistic phonics, which I incorporate when I teach ESL. I teach ESL students using texts that are interesting and relevant. I know how to engage children, as well as adults, because I am very personable and also up beat! I know how to figure out a student's exact needs and start from there!
