Do you want the expertise of a professor with the care of a teacher? If this is you, then you’ve come to the right place! My name is Rob S., and I have over a decade’s experience coaching, mentoring, and teaching high school students, undergraduates, graduate students, and adult learners. I earned my PhD in History from Penn State University, and my MAEd from Wake Forest University. I have seen first-hand the power that individual attention, be it one-on-one or in a small group, can have on a student’s academic achievement and overall self-esteem. In my opinion, there are few things better than helping people like you reach your goals, and that is why I am here.

While my methods certainly help all students, I specialize in working with three unique groups of students. The first are those that are doing “okay” in school, and consistently get “C’s” and “B’s,” but want to do better. I also specialize in working with student-athletes, having numerous years’ experience mentoring NCAA Division I athletes. Finally, I also specialize in collaborating with Highly Sensitive People (HSPs), also known as learners with Sensory Processing Sensitivity (SPS), tailoring my coaching to meet their unique learning preferences and needs.

Although my primary academic training is in history, I offer coaching for high school and college students in courses in all of the Humanities (such as English, Philosophy, and Art History) and the Social Sciences (such as Sociology, Psychology, and Anthropology). I also offer mentorship and academic planning that meets you where you are at now and helps you lay the foundations for where you want to go.

Please do not hesitate to contact me to set up an appointment so we can design a program that best suits you!

Highly recommend!

Rob’s been working with my son on a paper for his Comparative Politics course at UMass, Amherst. Prior to meeting Rob, my son was struggling to complete his assignments. He was spending a disproportionate amount studying with only mediocre results. Thankfully, I came across Rob’s profile and convinced my son to meet with Rob. 3 sessions later, my son is smiling again. Rob is professional, friendly and authentic. He possess that secret sauce: a deep understanding of the subject matter, the ability to teach students according to their learning needs, and a natural ability to meet students where they're at academically, emotionally and mentally. From, a grateful mother

Social Work Research Proposal Paper

I was writing a research proposal paper and Rob was very knowledgeable about research proposals. I have a very hectic schedule and Rob made himself available around my schedule. He was very present during our sessions and there were no distractions. Rob also provided a lot of great feedback on my paper. I would email him my paper with my updates and progress of my writing a lot. He would review my paper every time and added great feedback. I struggled with certain topics and he provided great resources so that I was able to complete the section of my paper. His response time is amazing! I would literally email him my paper and he would return it to me the same day with corrections. If you're looking for a tutor who cares and really wants you to succeed, he is your guy!
