Hi I'm Douglas! I'm a theoretical physicist from Pennsylvania with a passion for physics and mathematics. From Penn State University I obtained an honors Bachelor's degree in physics, as well as a minor certificate in mathematics. After that I earned a Master of Advanced Study degree in applied mathematics at the University of Cambridge. I have 2+ years experience tutoring mathematics from algebra-differential equations, as well as 2+ years a physics learning assistant for classical mechanics, quantum mechanics, and modern physics.
I tutor multiple levels of mathematics at both the university and high school level. As someone in theoretical physics, I am incredibly driven toward helping students understand the important roll mathematics plays in our universe.
Outside of tutoring, I spend my time studying the deep connections between scattering amplitudes (the most fundamental objects in physics) and geometry. My philosophy is that a physical law must have mathematical beauty and elegance. Consequently I see mathematical structure in virtually everything, which only fuels my desire to teach this to others.
