Excellent, knowledgeable, and highly-vested tutor
While Kim L. is new to Wyzant, he has tutored my daughters for years, mostly helping with math. Kim is great! What makes him a cut above the normal tutor is how much he invests in understanding the needs of your child and how best to address those needs as a team. In addition to teaching the subject matter, he diagnoses how your child learns and what needs to be focused on to meet your and your child's learn goals. For example, he helps figure out whether they need assistance focusing, developing more self-motivation, or getting greater understanding of the subject. As far as subject matter, Kim L.'s greatest strength is science and math given his love and enthusiasm for those topics. But he is also strong in developing better communication and truly believes in the whole person approach to studies. He is very good at find multiple ways to explain math and science so that he can fit the instruction to the best way your child learns. Kim is diligent, enthusiastic, trustworthy, and a top notch tutor!
