I graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics. Since then I have been teaching secondary math full time. I have also tutored various math levels for about 10 years and am happy to continue doing so. I have a strong passion for math that inspires me to show my students all the interesting patterns and techniques available in solving math.
My love of math encourages a wider perspective when teaching and tutoring. I can show students how to work a problem using a method or two, but students will come up with their own methods occasionally. When they do, I strongly encourage the student to stick with their own method as long as it works every time. Each mind works differently, so then our problem solving in math should reflect that variety.
Since I have been tutoring for years, even before college, I have been exposed to a wide range of math. I have successfully tutored 5th grade math, Middle School Math, Common Core for Middle School, Geometry (regular and AP), Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and TExES Exam 235 for 7-12 Certification. I am a very quick learner, which has helped me learn to explain things quickly. If I do not have all the answers to your questions immediately, I can quickly find the solutions and get back to you.
You are welcome to get into contact with me if you have any questions or need to schedule a session.
