Hi, my name is James, and I am a math major with a passion for helping people learn math since I was in high school. My approach is to help you capitalize on your existing math strengths while addressing weaknesses and to tailor lessons to your needs and learning preferences. It is my goal to build students' enthusiasm for math and help them gain the insight that will build lasting understanding of mathematics to help them in the rest of their schooling and beyond in their careers.

I want to help you find the right perspective on math topics that will enable you to excel in your math courses. If you take lessons with me, I will do my best to empower you in mathematics so that you can learn how to solve any problem that's thrown at you.

If you're a visual learner, I'll bring various kinds of visual problems and visualizations of concepts so you can really see what's going on. If you want to see problems or concepts in an applied/real-world setting, I'll bring some applications and applied problems along to our lessons. I'll listen to your learning preferences and customize the lesson accordingly. One thing I always like to do when possible is show students the origin of concepts, and how they build off each other. This helps build students' appreciation for math as well as their ability to perform well on tests and coursework.
