Hi!
I am a beginner/intermediate guitar teacher. I have been teaching for about five years to Many students of ages 11-40. Music is something I grew up with as a child, my mother is a famous composer in the orthodox Jewish world which made music second nature to myself and my siblings growing up. My method of teaching is very simple and fun. I start off teaching basic theory, background of music and guitar. I then proceed to teach a few simple chords and to make the practice fun, I teach a song that they already know that has those 2 chords. I graduate with this method, until we know all basic chords, and then continue making it exciting and fun while progressing to the intermediate levels.
Most of the songs that I use are in Hebrew but , they are all orthodox Jewish songs. My style teaching is accompanied with a spiritual touch of understanding the songs and the meaning of the words. Most Hebrew songs are praise and prayers to Hashem and I try to give the student the ability to tap into that and appreciate the beauty of music in this sense.
I myself am a spiritual singer/guitarist performer. I am very inspired by Reb Shlomo Carlebach, of blessed memory and many other great Jewish singers and rabbis. If you are looking for a guitar teacher who can teach the new secular music, that's not me.
Looking forward to meeting with you!
