About Deborah

Bio

As an educator with over 20 years of experience, I have taught from medical assistants to medical/graduate students students. I have had the honor of designing many successful pipeline programs that prepare students for entry into professional disciplines. Currently, I am an Associate Professor with education and tutoring skills that are current and up-to-date.

I have had the honor of designing many successful pipeline programs that prepare students for entry into professional disciplines. Currently, I am an Associate Professor with education and tutoring skills that are current and up-to-date.

My style of teaching is to be accessible, committed and detailed oriented. In addition, I believe in individualized attention and specific understanding of the student's learning style is key to the student's success. Critical thinking skills are important to me, as they are life-long learning skills. I also provide techniques in memorization and its utilization in problem solving. With regard to the educational experience, academic support and professional career advice is available when needed. I strive to connect the student with my network of over 300 educational professionals in various fields and institutions that range from Columbia University to the College of New Rochelle.

As a tutor I will offer information to parents that empowers their ability to advocate for their child. As a parent whose daughter attends one of the top liberal arts colleges in the country and as a foster parent that has achieve the successful graduation of a student from City College of New York, my experiential advice (when welcomed) has value.

I am also a member of the regional committee of New York State College Science, Engineering Program Directors. We meet once a month to discuss education paradigms, career opportunities and plan career fairs for student across New York State. In addition we share scholarship information, summer program initiatives and information on science fairs.
