Well hello there! I'm Brandi G, a retired certified public school teacher of 26 years. I have taught all grades from first through eighth. I graduated with two associates from Kellogg Community College, Bachelors degree from Olivet College and a Masters degree from Western Michigan University. I absolutely love teaching science, math and social studies. Why you ask? Well, I struggled with those subjects in elementary school myself, so I know how hard it can be to grasp some of those concepts. So, when I was team teaching, my partner did all the Language Arts (he was a master at it) and I did math, science and social studies. I always try to incorporate all three learning styles; visual, auditory and kinesthetic so kids can see, hear and actually manipulate things to help with their understanding.
I am currently tutoring in a nearby elementary school, helping students with math in second through fifth grade. I am also working with Kindergarten and first grade homeless students to help them "catch up" to where some of their classmates are academically.
I have taught in person as well as in Zoom classes during the Covid times. Both can be fun when a little imagination is put into it.
