As a Chinese teacher, I care about each student's unique needs and listen to them patiently. I usually spend a lot of time to design different lessons and write handouts to fit my students’ learning style and goals. Also, I have a strong and abiding interest in Chinese language and literature. For this reason, I pay close attention to Chinese vocabulary and grammar. I can also distinguish between similar words and phrases, how to use them correctly and clearly. Since language are highly relative to their culture, it is difficult to learn a language without knowing cultural context. I enjoy sharing my knowledge of Chinese literature, history, culture, and philosophy with my students and help them fully understand every aspect of the language.
Here we get to start:
The first lesson we will get to know each other a little bit and figure out some ideas of our future plan. We will firstly discuss:
-What reasons brought you to learn Mandarin Chinese?
-What is your current level?
-What would you like to achieve, and do you want to set a time frame?
-Are there any martials or textbooks you prefer to use?
-Are you struggling with some difficult points of your studies?
-What type of Chinese you would like to learn and focus on? (For example, traditional or simplify Chinese/daily conversion/business Chinese/academic writing, etc.)
-You are welcome to ask me questions about the language learning.
We will set goals together and adjust it as needed during our lessons and work together to figure out the way fit you best.
